Presenters
Formats and Times
- In-Person Training: 5 hours (8:30-2:30)
Content
Many students present with learner profiles that are best assessed by a cross-disciplinary team. Currently, some assessment team members may face procedural and scheduling challenges that limit true cross-disciplinary assessment. This training will define cross-disciplinary assessment, as well as identifying its benefits and potential barriers. Training information may be taken back to school sites, so everyone involved in the student's education shares the same understanding of the assessment process. Case studies will be shared regarding specialized populations that are best assessed by a cross-disciplinary team.
Intended Audience
This training is geared to school psychologists and speech-language pathologists, but administrators and anyone who conducts assessments could benefit.
Participants Will
- Identify best practices and benefits of cross-disciplinary assessment.
- Discuss ideas for implementation at their sites.
- Review case studies involving cross disciplinary assessments.
